Enter one of healthcare's most in-demand back-office careers. Medical coders translate clinical information into universal codes — enabling accurate billing, insurance claims, and health data analysis worldwide.
Medical Coding is the process of translating medical diagnoses, procedures, services, and equipment into universal alphanumeric codes. These codes are used by hospitals, clinics, and insurance companies to process claims, manage health records, and analyse healthcare data.
Every patient visit, every diagnosis, every surgical procedure gets assigned a code by a medical coder. This work happens behind the scenes — but it directly determines whether hospitals get paid correctly and whether patients are billed accurately. Trained medical coders are in constant demand across hospitals, BPOs, insurance firms, and healthcare IT companies.
"India is a global hub for medical coding outsourcing — with thousands of openings every year in both domestic hospitals and international healthcare BPO companies."
Our Medical Coding program builds your coding knowledge from the basics — covering ICD, CPT, and HCPCS systems with a strong focus on real-world application and accuracy.
The Medical Coding Training Program starts from the very basics and builds your coding knowledge step by step. You will begin by understanding the healthcare system — how patient encounters, diagnoses, and procedures are documented, and why accurate coding matters for hospitals, insurers, and patients alike. The course covers the ICD-10-CM diagnosis coding system in detail, teaching you how to read clinical documentation and assign the correct diagnosis codes. You will learn CPT coding for medical procedures, surgeries, and services, and be introduced to HCPCS Level II codes used for equipment and supplies. Medical terminology and a basic understanding of human anatomy are also covered — essential foundations for reading clinical notes accurately. The curriculum includes an introduction to insurance claim processing and how the revenue cycle works in a healthcare organisation. By the end of the program, you will have the coding knowledge and confidence to begin working as a medical coder in a hospital, clinic, or BPO.
Medical Coding is open to a wider range of educational backgrounds than most clinical courses — making it an ideal entry into the healthcare industry.
